Sales Incentive Case Study 3

Client:          Global IT Company
Project:       Trip to New York


Project Overview
Top Banana Team were commissioned to devise a non-target driven sales programme for a global IT company. Other objectives of the programme were to unite the sales force and stimulate lead generation for a family of specific brand products. Top performers within the programme were rewarded with a trip to New York.

New York Trip
Points were awarded to those partners participating in the scheme with the actual number of points dictated by the value of the products.

Top performing partners were rewarded with a trip to New York in December 2006. The four day trip featured accommodation in a 5-star hotel and various activities such as attending a broadway show, being flown over the city in a helicopter, plus an evening cruise around the harbour with dinner included.

Logistics
Having agreed the requirements of the programme with the clients, Top Banana Team were then responsible for the communication and management of the project and the actual organisation of the New York trip.

Partners were split into four categories reflecting the amount of revenue they had generated during the previous financial year. A number of places were then allocated to each category to ensure the trip was not dominated only by the partners who had generated the most gross income.

The project was a great success and created a significant increase in new leads for the client. A similar programme was created in 2007 with the winners receiving a skiing trip to Chamonix as their prize.

The project comprised the following elements:

. Design communication emails to invite partners to sign up for the programme.
. Follow-up registration scheme to ensure a minimum of 50 partners participated.
. Partners reported their weekly sales figures directly to the client.
. Distribution of weekly 'league tables'  individually to each partner to illustrate their performance within the group. 
. Organised weekly conference calls to ensure the client was kept informed of the programmes performance and various other details regarding the trip to New York.
. Winners were announced by the client before Top Banana Team provided each successful partner with itineries and details of their trip. 
. Top Banana then arranged all elements of the trip to New York.
